I am a self taught ceramic artist based in Milwaukee. I make small batch ceramics using stoneware — a mix of both smooth wheel thrown shapes and organically handbuilt vessels using inspiration from nature, interior details, abstract art, and linens/textiles. I believe daily objects can be functional AND beautiful and that is really the heartbeat of my craft. Working with clay makes me feel challenged and even more-so satisfied and appreciative of the results. I work to create pieces that maintain a sense of individuality and personality. It is important to me that each piece is unique and well made, regardless of how many I’ve made. For me, it is about slowing down and making everyday objects sustainable instead of disposable.
